Originally made in colour, this version is a sepia-version of Jacques-Nicolas Bellin’s 1778 nautical chart of the world. A French hydrographer (chief cartographer) to the French Navy, he produced many maps during his 50-year career, with the maps of Canada and French Territories in North America are of particularly high value.
